Buying Resources
- Garage sales and thrift
stores are great for resources at bargains prices.
Also, don't forget about ebay- there are some great
deals to be had there as well. Often on ebay you can
find a daycare that is closing or a retiring teacher
that is selling everything. Also, you can make many fun
games yourself for no cost at all.
- A great option is to
buy resources from dollar stores (or in Japan 100 yen
stores). You can get all sorts of items such as colored
bins, tubs and caddies, stationery.
- Buy your pocket charts
at Wal Mart - they are much cheaper at around $9.99
each (look in the Back to School section).
- Buying books can be
expensive - however, there are cheaper options:
Scholastic book orders/sales, garage sales, thrift
stores, and discount book stores. Don't spend all of
your money on books, you can collect them throughout
the school year for free using your Scholastic Bonus
Points. Scholastic will also hold warehouse sales two
or three times a year in most states, you can go
directly to their warehouse and shop for books at
half-price.
